“Big” Jim owns and operates Just Fishing with “Big” Jim McLaughlin which is Canada’s oldest & largest free fishing publication. Two time former Classic Champion and Canadian Hall of Fame member, Jim is an icon within the Canadian fishing industry.
Every winter he travels across the province for his HT Ice Fishing Tour, offering free seminars promoting the sport for beginners and experts alike. Jim’s expertise at catching panfish like crappie and sunfish through the ice is legendary throughout eastern Ontario but his expertise at catching perch, walleye, trout, pike and whitefish across the province makes him a well- rounded ice angler.
“Big” Jim also spent several years as the host of the Ultimate Fishing Show before moving on to the current phase of his career. Gord Pyzer is the only person ever to be inducted into the Canadian Angler Hall of Fame, National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame and Canadian Outdoor Hall of Fame.
Gord is a fifty-nine (59) time national award winning writer, multiple National Magazine Gold and Silver Medal Winner and recipient of the 2014 Canadian Magazine Cover Award.
Known in fishing circles as “Doctor Pyzer”, Gord has a Master’s degree in Resource Management and worked for thirty-one years as a senior manager with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, including Policy Advisor to the Assistant Deputy Minister for Northern Ontario.
While serving as the OMNR District Manager in Kenora, Ontario, Gord established the first conservation-oriented, modern muskie management regulations (for Lake of the Woods) in North America. Using sonic tracking devices and scuba gear, Gord and his team of biologists also initiated one of the most extensive, multi-year tracking studies of smallmouth bass and largemouth bass ever undertaken.
An internationally sought out speaker and seminar presenter, Gord is the Fishing Editor of Outdoor Canada Magazine, Field Editor of In-Fisherman Magazine, Radio and Television and Contributor to Big Jim’s JUST FISHING!
Gord was also the Co-Host of the Real Fishing Radio Show for 32 years of national syndication across Canada and is the current host of Fish Talk With The Doc, on the Outdoor Journal Radio Show, heard live each Saturday morning on Sportsnet the FAN 590 in Toronto.
A keen, tournament angler, Gord has won numerous events across Canada and the United States.

In 2009, Gord was inducted into the Canadian Angler Hall of Fame. In 2015 he was installed into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in the United States and the Canadian Outdoor Hall of Fame. Gord is the only person ever to be awarded all three honours.

Gerry Heels is a veteran Lake Simcoe Ice Angler. He has long been recognized as a leading ice fishing seminar host on the subject of maximizing electronics to catch more fish.
His talks on sonar units, GPS and electronic charts help identify ways ice anglers can better utilize their units, troubleshoot issues and capitalize on all the features today's high tech electronics offer.
He is also an ice fishing guide operating Heels Recreational Fishing. Ice safety training courses combined with utilizing portable huts to ensure his clients remain mobile where the fish are biting, help them have a safe and fun-filled day on the ice.
Gerry is very active within the fishing community and through his business “Heels Marine Electronics” is fortunate enough to make a full time career within the fishing industry.

Best known as the founder of Ontario Women Anglers, Yvonne is a strong advocate for getting women and children outdoors and on the water, whether it’s soft or hard!
In 2016, she became the first female to receive the Rick Amsbury Award of Excellence, a recognition given out annually by the Canadian Angler Hall of Fame for contributions to the sport.
Yvonne writes for such publications as Ontario Out of Doors and Just Fishing Magazine and has been a guest on several outdoor radio and TV shows over the years including: JP DeRose's Breaking Boundaries, Outdoor Journal Radio Show, Blue Water Radio and Angler & Hunter Radio. For the past eight years, she has been a fishing instructor and guest speaker at the OFAH Women's Outdoor Weekend.

Sebastien from Seabass Outdoors is known for fishing Lake Simcoe hard during the hard water months. Always diversifying the way he breaks apart the lake and his approach to consistently catching whitefish and lake trout.
Sebastien has become passionate about filming his on-ice exploits and sharing them with his many YouTube followers. Not only does he condense his countless hours spent on-top of Lake Simcoe’s icy surface but he is now also completing the learning package with awe-inspiring underwater footage. His expertise coupled with unbridled enthusiasm on and off the video or seminar stage is a big hit among his growing fan base.
He is the current Ontario record holder for the biggest burbot ever caught in the province, a giant ling just under 18 pounds from none other than Lake Simcoe. David is one of the most recognizable fishing personalities in Canada as well as being a noted tournament angler. He is a multi-species, year-round angler who has won numerous bass, pike, perch & crappie tournaments and can boast of multiple, angler & team of the year titles. He has proudly represented Canada in multiple international competitions, bringing home gold and silver Pan-Am Sportfishing medals.
On the hard water, David enjoys targeting all species, including Lake Trout, Whitefish, Walleye, Pike, Cisco, Yellow Perch and Black Crappie. Since the mid 1980’s, Wil Wegman of Bradford Ontario has been one of Canada’s top ice fishing sticks. He taught evening ice fishing courses at various campuses of Seneca and Georgina College from 1986 to 2006.
Wil was a member of Canada’s National Team at the World Ice Fishing Championships in 1991. He has several top ten finishes in the Canadian Ice Fishing Championship and won the 2006 Perch Trap Attack on Lake Simcoe.
In 2011, Wil and his son Izaak placed 1st in the Perch n for MS event on Lake Simcoe that saw over 75 teams compete and the following year he was 3rd when twice that many came out to compete.
Wil is an award winning freelance writer with many ice fishing articles published in such magazines as: Ontario out of Doors, Outdoor Canada, Real Fishing, Big Jim’s Just Fishing and In Fisherman. He’s the fishing columnist for Lake Simcoe Living Magazine. Wil’s home lake is Simcoe and after more than 30 years of fishing and working here, he has developed a keen understanding of this, the most intensively fished inland lake in Ontario.
Wil has been a guest on several TV and radio segments promoting ice fishing, including The Weather Network, CTV, Angler and Hunter TV and Radio and Bob Izumi’s Real Fishing Show. He is a frequent guest on the Sportsnet Fan 590 Outdoor Journal Radio Show. He is supported by Tourism Simcoe County, HT Enterprises, Rapala and Lowrance.
Wil is the only person to ever win the Bill Bond Memorial Award twice (for dedication to promoting and conserving the fishery of Lake Simcoe). JP’s seminars will focus on highlighting his biggest lake trout and whitefish catches from 2019 and will reveal his secrets to catching them for the first time! Understanding the depths, methods, lures, wind, weather, and all the other factors that collided for him to catch these brutes will help those in attendance know what they can do to try and duplicate those results on Lake Simcoe, Georgian Bay or wherever you like to ice fish.
